These programs are backed and approved by esteemed and renowned educator, Dr. Robert Galvan, former Assistant Vice President for Community and School Relations at the University of Texas at Austin. Additional positions include appointment as an International Advisor to the U.S. Embassy's Agency for International Development in Central America, public school teacher and administrator, Dean of Continuing Education, Director of Summer School, and Graduate Council Chair. Dr. Galvan served as a member of a White House Committee on Education.

Last Chance Ranch works closely with Caddo Correctional Center to provide services to sentenced offenders in order to educate and provide trade skills in preparation of release. These programs enable offenders to obtain good time credit and reduce jail time.

The staff of Last Chance Ranch contributes to the Northwest Regional Reentry Program of Caddo Correctional Center in a variety of ways including:

  • Mainentance training and certification
  • Welding training and certification
  • Instructing Reentry psycho-educational classes as part of a state-certified curriculum

Together, the goal of Last Chance Ranch and the Northwest Regional Reentry Center is to reduce the rate of recidivism and, ultimately, crime in our communities.

It is our belief that if individuals can be helped in the rehabilitation both during and after incarceration, the chance of ther success is much greater.

In our efforts to help better the lives of people in our community, we give a special thanks to the following organizations that have helped us and our clietns reach our goals:

  • Louisiana Technical College
  • Caddo Correctional Center and Staff
  • Louisiana Vocational Rehabilitation Services
  • Council on Alcoholism
  • Center for Families
